Traveling Trunks

Our six traveling trunks contain actual historical artifacts and authentic reproductions designed for classroom use on a variety of popular topics. They may be checked out for a one week period (or longer by special requests). If you would like more information on any of the items listed below, please call (715) 842-5750.

  • Cultural Map of Wisconsin
    A 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 Foot map which ives "A Cartographic Portrait of the State" with regard to the history, culture, land and people. Has more than 1200 sites of interest indexed in accompanying booklet. 

  • Advocates for Change Poster Set
    A set of 10 posters of famous Wisconsinites who achieved national and even worldwide influence: Kathryn Clarenbach, Wilbur and Ardie Halyard, Cordelia Harvey, Robert LaFollette, Aldo Leopold, Golda Meir, John Muir, John Quinney, Margarethe Schurz and Frances Willard.

  • Homes of the Past
    A set of three 30x40 inch posterboards with mounted photos and stories of eleven of Wausau's former mansions "gone but not forgotten". 

  • Heroes of Our Heritage
    A three panel portable kiosk with photos of Marathon County's founders. Each panel measures approximately 2 ft. wide by 4 1/2 ft. tall. 

  • The Twenties
    A three panel portable kiosk with photos depicting life in the 1920's in Marathon County and nationwide.
