Marathon County Historical Society hosts several annual events
throughout the year. Through these events we hope to reach people
with a wide range of interests. Watch for the following list of
events each year. Whether
our events are educational, glamorous, just for fun or
a combination all of these, the Marathon County Historical
Society's annual
events
support important programs that enable the us bring our
history alive.
In addition to these annual events, don't forget to watch our calendar
for special events that offer unique opportunities for us and the
community.
- February - Victorian
Valentines Tea
Reserve a table for you and your friends. Enjoy
an afternoon of tea and treats in the beautiful historic Yawkey
house. This
is the only event that allows visitors to stroll through the
many rooms of the Yawkey house. Reservations required. Open to
the Public. Members discount applies.
- Mid-Summer
Event
Each year, the Historical Society hosts a summer
event. Typically this event is held in the Yawkey House yard
and gardens, but may change depending on the theme. In past years,
the event has been as extravagant as a weekend long Festival
and as relaxing as an an ice cream social. Check out our Calendar

- Children's History Day
Looking for something for your children to do during the summer?
Children's History Day offers a unique opportunity for your children
to play games and make crafts from the past.
- September
- History Day/Weekend
History Day/weekend events vary from year
to year and can feature such things as cemetery tours, historic
house
tours, preservation
classes, historic lunceon, and more. Check out our Calendar
of Events for more information.
- December - Holiday Open House
Stroll through our two historic houses and enjoy an old fashioned
Christmas. Refreshments provided.
