Become A Volunteer

Volunteers play a critical part in the success of the Marathon County Historical Society. We have many volunteer opportunities requiring people with a wide variety of talents and interests. Whether you are looking for a weekly commitment or an occasional assignment, we would like to hear from you. Fill out our online Volunteer Application or call us at (715) 842-5750.
 
Volunteer Opportunities
General Office
Projects may include such things as photocopying, typing, designing promotional materials and newsletters, assisting with large mailings, ordering supplies, filing, etc.

 
Library and Archives
Our library includes a large collection of photographs, research files, archives, and books. We are currently seeking assistance with automating our complete library and archives. Projects may include photograph scanning, indexing, data entry, filing, etc.

 
Special Events
We have many opportunities for those who are interested in volunteering occasionally. We host many special events through the year and depend on volunteers to help in a variety of ways.

 
Artifacts and Collections
Our curators work in the evenings and offer a variety of volunteer opportunities. Projects may range from identifying artifacts, indexing collections, data entry, etc.
